A thatched lapa among the trees in Tierpoort.
Lapatio is a private venue for parties and functions on a smallholding in Tierpoort, east of Pretoria. The heart of it is a giant, closed-in lapa under thatch, with antique furniture, chandeliers and a long wooden floor.
Around it are rolling lawns, aloes and old trees, a fire-pit boma, a deck with leather couches, and horses and other animals.
Marcia le Roux runs Lapatio with a small team and trusted partners, like Laughing Chefs Caterers. Whatever the occasion, they treat it as their own.
